The supreme court refused an appeal application by the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) which had the intention to allow listings sites to offer a home’s previous selling price to the general public. This information is openly available in other countries; the U.S. and U.K. for example. Canadian real estate boards have yet to allow it to be as available here, because it breeches homeowners’ privacy. TREB will allow its members to post sold data later this year, as long as a password is used to access the information.
